Hey guys, just making a post to clarify about things Nairo, Esam and the International Donation drive for BAM8
So the skinny of the situation is basically that Esam has decided not to come since they would not give him a visa and Nairo also has yet to receive his visa. The visa's were applied for in advance so it wasn't a time issue, more the fact the whilst Mr. R and the Japanese players took only 1 day to receive their visa's where as The Americans applied for theirs almost a month ago and we have heard literally 0 back from the American embassy, even after Enquiring on the phone and on their website (Which is a mess btw) So basically we are stuck between a rock and a very hard place. I just wanted to let everyone know this is in no way Nairo/Esam fault, as they applied with more than enough time, It's more another issue of the American government screwing Esports competitors by not giving them visas
If they are unable to come to BAM8 I will be handing out partial refunds to people based on the stretch goals we had. If you want to donate the money to the Aus only pot then that will be more than appreciated and if you get a refund you will not be allowed in to the Salty Suite/ Donator Meets.

Hey all,

I'm a Chicagoland smasher who has found himself in Melbourne during BAM8. I've registered for Sm4sh singles and doubles. As I currently don't have a partner I was hoping to find one on here before the tourney as its been posted on more recently than the Smashboards BAM8 post. I main Mega but also play Cloud and dabble in a few other characters. I'm also planning on being at a few pre-BAM meetups the weekend before(something about Smash at a Melbourne library on Saturday?) so I can warm up. If anyone would be interested to team, message me or maybe I'll see you in Melbourne before everything. Thanks, guys!
