Ok so I have been experimenting with mario's 3rd up b custom and here's what I found: (test dummy was Mario)
.down throw to up b does 26%, works from 0% to 42%
.down tilt to up b does 26%/may kill,works from 0% to 45% and 58% to 108%
Up tilt to up b does 26%,works from 0% to 28%
.down throw to up tilt (can connect up to 3 times) to up b does 31% to 42% works from 0% to 18% (1 up tilt), 0% to 9% (2 up tilts), 0% to 4% (3 up tilts)
.down throw to dash to short hop up air to up b (my have to move backwards a bit to position yourself for the up b or do a reverse up b) does 33%, works from 32% to 42%
.down throw to dash to full hop up air to up b does 33%/may kill (may have to reverse up b ), works from 51% to 62%
.down throw to dash to short hop up air to up air to full or short hop up air to jump up air to up b does 54%/may kill (positioning may have to sorta chase opponent),works from 34% to 37%
.down throw to dash to full hop up air to jump to up air to up b does 40%/may kill, works from 57% to 62% and from 67% to 76% (may have to do up b reversed)
.out of shield is alright 👍
DI wasn't taken into account so an opponent that does DI from these may be harder to combo and (again) my training dummy was Mario for this so the percentages were from Mario cause his mid weight so it is around those per cents for all character.Please give feed back

Apologies for reviving this thread, I don't know where else to post this apart from posting a new thread but I felt this was a better place as I'm a bit concerned a thread may be created for advice on playing against every character.
I know Mario is a great character, but recently I have been doing awful against some Mario mains in my area, I felt like I was losing my sets because I didn't have much MU experience with Mario, which I am fairly certain of. I'm not going to put any tags here but the players I did vs are really nice people, but these players weren't heaps better than me (sorry to any of you that I played if you guys are offended, you played well and I'm not trying to discredit you) and yet I was getting destroyed.
So, I decided to post this to see if any wonderful users from qldsmash.com would be willing to help me deal with this character at least a little bit better. Even some basic advice would be much appreciated.
If you need specifics as to what I'm looking for, just what to avoid doing, how to deal with "___" (grab combos, FLUDD etc.), mostly basic advice is okay, something a bit more in-depth is fine as well. Linking me to a guide would great but I haven't been able to find one myself, but anything helps.
Listing characters that counter Mario would be fine but I don't know if it would help too much because I have already tried using a different character, Cloud against him but my Cloud is not the best and I can't force myself to get better with him because he doesn't feel like a character I enjoy using. I feel like I'm just going to use ROB and maybe Falco against Mario even though these to characters don't fare extremely well against him.
