Got a rage worthy story for everybody.

So I had a WiiU, and the hdmi port on it stopped working, so I couldn't connect it to a tv. Cool, now I couldn't practice the game, and then somebody went and 'borrowed' and then lost the cables for it. After waiting forever I ended up just buying new power cables, but thats a different story. I haven't played very much at all since BAM and I am getting bad and want to practice again.
So you want to play but you cant connect it to a TV through HDMI, what do you do? You set the tv type to AV right? Except that our good old friend Gords, in his infinite wisdom, desynced this WiiU's gamepad. In order to change the display type, you need to use the gamepad, and in order to sync the gamepad to the console, you need to input a code which is displayed ON THE TV. Classic Chicken and Egg situation. If you find yourself in this situation, you actually cant do shit about it, you have just one option. Try inputting all 256 possible combinations of the gamepad sync code to guess it. Well I did that, I wrote down all 256 possible combinations, changing the suits to numbers to make it easier to record and then tried every single one, took me about 2 hours to try them all. You can imagine when I got down to the very last code I was saying to myself "there is NO fucking way my luck would be so bad that the correct code would be the very last one I try." Sure enough, my luck wasn't that bad, it was worse, NONE OF THEM WORKED! So I did some research, turns out, you need to press the sync button on the wiiu TWICE! So I did that, and tried all 256 AGAIN. Still nothing, you can imagine at this point you start asking questions like is this really worth it, why the fuck did Nintendo not have a work around for this issue, surely it came up when they were testing the console before release, why is this a thing. Why do you need a code, the code itself is obviously not a secret it gets displayed right there on the TV, so why does it need to be so complicated? Why does it need to be a code at all, why cant you just sync it with a button press like a Wii remote? What the hell Nintendo.

What was I doing wrong? Perhaps the code randomizes after each attempt? I did some more research (information about this particular topic is hard to come by, try it for yourself) and discovered that no it doesn't randomize, each console has a set code that never changes, which means I didn't need to try all 256 attempts at guessing the code in a single sitting, hooray for me...
I tried half the possible codes again and raged out, so now we are at 600 attempts to guess a stupid fucking code that shouldn't even exist in the first place. Maybe there was a time limit? Got a friend to do some testing on their WiiU, turns out you have to not only hit the sync button twice, but then as we thought, you only have a 3 minute window to input the code before it times out... great. So I tried again, every 3 minutes I would turn the console off (I couldn't see what was happening on the screen so I figured this was the best way to make sure I kept getting to the sync code screen reliably without straying off somewhere else somehow) turn it on, wait 30 seconds for the console startup, and then input codes for the 3 minute window. Finally after many days of research and trying, I got it after 685 attempts. YEAH EAT SHIT NINTENDO I DID IT!!! If you ever get in a similar situation, now you know what to do.

And Nintendo, if you are reading this, PLEASE for the love of god hire me, I'll start you a new much needed internal team called the "Is this a good idea or not?" team, you really need one.
