I went head to head with Elton's Villager last night. He challenged me to a best of 5 and I'm pretty sure I won the set 3-0.
The thing I took away from those matches is that your screwed if you give Villager time to plant a tree when you're offstage and that I need to ban Battlefield against Villager because all those platforms are just places for Villager to drop bowling balls off.

* Jab1 > Jab2 > Axe
* Lots of Jumping with dairs, especially out of shield for good counters. If lucky, with the triple turnip spike hit you can follow up with another aerial, usually the up air or possibly the axe. This combo does kill when pulling out three turnips for the up air.
* Stand on edge of platform and unleash a waterfall of bowling balls. When they reckon they can get around the flow of the waterfall charge a bowling ball to de-sync the pattern.
* Hold a Side B that spawns into the stage and explodes instantly to do an extremely powerful hit. * short hop + fair/bair > fast fall > repeat
This is a very rapid fire move, and destroys tall characters like Donkey Kong and Ganondorf.
* short hop > fastfall +> fair/bair
This is to get minimum height with the slingshot. There is lag time with this move form landing, so be careful. This takes quite a bit of mastery.
* jab combo > umbrella
This gets a good 21% damage on 0% damaged players. And works fairly well with later on percents but with possibly less jabs.
* Jump above opponent > Z-Drop the wood chip > use an aerial
* Use neutral air to get out of combos. It has heaps of priority. Use jump in combination or alone to get out of combos as well.
* Up air and dair, has heaps of range and active frames. Use these moves ALOT, you win like all the time if they try to attack as well.

The following are techniques I did not discover:
* One chop technique: I did it twice now as of learning about it from http://smashboards.com/threads/the-one-chop-technique.372020/
It is very hard to do and the factors to do it are not confirmed.
* Mud Grab / Dash-attack Cancel Grab: Dash attack >cancel> grab. Seems cosmetic, need to play with it. You can also pivot.
* Jumping of Gyroid Momentum boost:
1. Throw an item that you can hold in your hand OFF OF THE STAGE IN EITHER DIRECTION.
2. Quickly spawn Lloid in EITHER direction.
3. Ride Lloid and jump off AT ANY TIME THAT YOU DARN WELL PLEASE, SO LONG AS IT IS BEFORE THE THROWN ITEM HITS A PLATFORM, CHARACTER, OR THE BLAST LINES OF THE STAGE.
When you jump off you will travel in the direction that the item was thrown, regardless of whichever direction you ride Lloid.

*DACUS: Wait for Wii-U version. (I haven't seen video footage)

A new advanced technique, it's like a DACUS into anything :
dash grab> {cancel} >anything (e.g. up smash, spot dodge)
http://smashboards.com/threads/new-grab-cancel-slide-technique-with-video.380464/
I'm going to try it soon, will post back my results. * Running, then move the joystick close to the center or diagonally (easier) to run slow, and you can keep this running motion on the edge of a platform/stage without falling off. When in this state all you have to do is press A to drop throw a pot plant from the dash attack. You can also increase your running speed to fall of the edge to do an aerial instead. This technique helps with being accurate by waiting/stalling to hit the right timing.
* Dash grab> {cancel} >anything (e.g. up smash, spot dodge)
This move has a sliding effect like a DACUS. It has very strict timing.
http://smashboards.com/threads/new-grab-cancel-slide-technique-with-video.380464/ ( The dude says "Run, grab, then INSTANTLY flick the C-stick upwards.. it's almost as if you're doing both at once. " )
V confirmed this advanced technique. I'm still having trouble doing it. She uses 'Y' as grab, I might use 'X' as grab. Since I used 'X' as shield previously to wall tech, I can do the same wall tech even if it is assigned to grab. * F-tilt with item in hand:
Crouch > left/right C-Joystick
(Works with all characters, posting since Villager has the wood chip)

@hopedealer- dunno, I still can't do it.
*The sapling takes a certain amount of water to grow. You can give it parts of this amount and finish the rest another time. Therefor you can make it so a little bit of water from the watering-can will make the tree grow.
*The balloons have hurt boxes. When using up B and going to grab a ledge, if you grab/snap-on the ledge from as close to the inner stage as possible (usually have to scoop up to the ledge from the bottom face of the stage), the balloons will fly off closer to the inner stage which acts as a decent defence from projectiles.
*Jabs > down tilt. Similar to Jabs > f-tilt, but has it's own unique hitbox & knockback, and so if the down tilt hits you can follow up much easily with another attack compared to the f-tilt. You'll learn if it's best to f-tilt or down tilt.
I just beat kaion 9 times in a row. Villager vs Megaman, all on Battlefield
edit- (2 stocks btw, no time I think, no time outs at least. )

*Sliding up smash confirmed. Dash>up smash on the right timing. It's just before both feet come together on the ground and close to when they are both far apart. The dash animation moving to the running animation; shows a speed-up or speed-boost as the running animation is faster. You can charge the up-smash whilst sliding as well, but most of the time you will want to simply flick the C-Joystick upwards very fast.
You have to do the up-smash around this point. (I've been able to do it like 30% of the time, and I'll get better eventually. It is a significant slide and I've pulled it off on opponents in combos/strings. )
*Up-Smash > Up Air. You can keep going for the Up Air follow ups as well as they have strong priority. I have volleyed with these up-airs (after an up-smash ) about 6 times before.
I've found a nice thing with watering the sapling to almost 100% watered. And the next time you can just give it like one drop of water and it grows instantly! (I've mentioned this before but...)
Possibly at low percentage you can still combo afterwards. You can use the watering can and jump to be ready vertically for the next move. We need to play with it more! keep it in mind.
I've done many fast surprising hits with it already.
Also check this out- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_CGVAjUGsw
And this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3xHtDo6ohA&sns=tw we might have some deadly stuff like this if we can z grab and z drop an item such as the wood chip for the 3 jab-locks.
I've also been trying to use Down Air many times in quick succession to sort of bounce them like a basketball, it's a good concept. *A new gyroid glitch against Fox's, Zelda's, Mario's and possibly others' reflectors to destroy them when they are on the edge of the stage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EktXjm79l60 Villyness had it happen to a Mario.
Seems hard, but nothing is hard with the right mind.

why did that do 68% damage

*Gyroid Stalling:
Spawn the 'Riding Gyroid' into a wall and it will blow up immediately allowing you to do another one, etc.
You slowly move downwards every time you do it. How ever you can wall jump to regain vertical height. You can repeat the Gyroids after the wall jump and you will eventually get your wall jump back. After 3 Gyroids you will get your wall jump back. Additionally after 2 Gyroids and then a tiny bit of falling you will also get your jump back, however overall you will lose vertical height if your repeat it with 2 Gyroids.
You can potentially Gyroid Stall forever. This technique is also useful to set of rapid explosions close to the ledge. *Gyroid Stalling using the blast zones:
Gyoid resets once it enters the blast zone, so you can stall for a bit if you are close enough to the blast zone.
*Using the gyroid to stop your momentum and in turn surviving. I have tested this on a custom stage with a lava pole in the middle of a medium size stage. At 152% you will die when you hit the lava wall, but if you hit the lava wall and just before you are about to enter the blast zone your hit stun goes away just in time to use a final move, and hence a Gyroid will save you. If you increase the percentage to 153%, 154% you can also survive with this. It gets a bit random at 154%. At 155% you will hear the Gyroid spawn sound, but you will still die.
*Shield for like 1-2 frames > short hop (out of shield) with a lot of sidewards momentum > Nair > fast fall > Shield for like 1-2 frames > Repeat. it's like a free perfect shield, it looks like you're shining. It's so fast, Nair can also combo to the next Nair by repeating this. Without the shield version also works fine, and I suppose a tiny bit faster without shielding, unless there is some strange mechanics going on that makes both versions the same-ish speed.
