About
Thanks to BUSSY for his awesome job constructing the image and editing the PR descriptions!
#1 G-MAN G-Man has been the reigning champion of Newcastle for the majority of both 2015 and 2016. With a strong desire to hold onto his youth and relevancy, G-Man is looking to retain this position for the next quarter. The G-Man is well renown for his amazing skill with Captain Falcon, having pulled off many amazing feats such as boasting about the amount footstool combos he will get on you and following up his claim with 0 footstools and a plethora of side-Bs.
#2 KELP From the early beginnings of the Newcastle scene, Kelp has been nipping at G-Man's heels for the majority of 2016 and even taking a handful of GvP titles when Grandpa Falcon went to bed early and didn't want to compete. Kelp holds claim to many victories over Newcastle's regulars, and even managed to take down ACT's Atyeo (though Kelp tries to forget about Atyeo's 6-1 comeback against him). Kelp's Ness is dangerous and unpredictable with insane combos and mix-ups like PK Fire into PK Fire into PK Fire into PK Fire into Back Throw.
#3 SCHNITZEL The Schnitzel has come through with consistently strong and powerful results for the entirety this year, with his worst result being only a single shameful 5th place. Snit's arrogance and sense of self worth have increased with 1 GvP victory under his belt, but Kelp and G-Man are usually there to put him in his rightful place. With that being said, Schnitzel is still a force to be reckoned with holding claim to countless wins against most opponents within the irrelevant town of Newcastle.
#4 BUSSY Bussy, also known as The Boy Pussy, has had very consistant results with big strong wins over every person in the local Newcastle scene, and recently won a title at GvP, even with both G-man and Kelp in attendence. Something Schnitzel couldnt do. Purely playing for the waifus, one can only see this short statured man going up in the power rankings to come as he is a powerful bro. Provided that he learns how to stop getting bodied by Spike and Schnitzel.
#5 BENJAM Benjam, a seasoned GvP veteran who has been consistently a pro bracket player since the very beginning. He is a versatile player with multiple (like 7 or something stupid) strong character options and his Sonic regularly has Newcastle contemplating never playing the game again. His consistency and adaptable play style lands him at #5, but that could very well jump up next quarter.
#6 PAT Nobody seems to remember why Pat is good until they are forced to verse him. It is possible he was conceived while watching Topgun, as he is not only the Iceman under pressure, but a Maverick off stage. With more regular appearances, Pat would likely be on the Highway to the Danger Zone cracking the Top 5, as one of Newcastle's only solo mains. Able to take games from Bussy and Benjam with considerable consistency, but if only his claims of bodying Schnitzel could be proven in bracket instead of the lag filled cesspool that is the Australian Smash 4 servers.
#7 SPIKE Spike, as ironic as his name is, has had some decent results coming around lately with wins over both G-Man and Kelp, but failing to beat those below him. From consistantly being in the amateur bracket to regular top 7 placings in the pro bracket after picking up Mario, this player is certainly coming into his own. If he can learn to beat players below him with more consistency and work on his nerves, you can all expect to see him make a climb next quarter.
#8 MIKKLE Mikkle, our resident Melee master has made the jump over to Smash 4, dazzling everyone with some immediate surprising results with his Falco. However, Smash 4's lack of waveshines, L-cancels, and shine being a good move, made him sell out and switch to Fox (real original). Once he completes the selling out process and incorporates the jab, he very well may top Newcastle's PR in the quarters to come.
#9 MEGALOMANIASH MegloManiAsh The Man of Many Monikers, a.k.a. Blackie Chan a.k.a. The Black Stallion, is Newcastle's premier Bowser main. A man who sports the angry turtle's blue skin, yet is still learning to swim with the big boys in the top 5. But do not count this heavy player out, he has proven himself an unstoppable force on many occasions taking down some higher ranked players such as Benjam and Kelp with ease. A lack of attendence of late has seem him slide down the rankings, but come next quarter there is no doubt he will rise if he continues to net solid victories on those ranked above him.
#10 DEDEDEEZNUTZ DeDeDeezNutz continues to rise through the ranks whilst using the unoptimal and unorthodox Wiimote and Nunchuck tech. Our resident Dedede player is a foe not to be taken lightly as his big hits yet excellent movement keeps you on your toes, waiting for you to be caught sleeping as he swings through with a mighty punish. You'll probably find DeDeDeezNutz at a higher ranking next quarter as he continues to take games from Newcastle's top players, unless his time being a local internet celebrity clashes with his smash career.
Also, keep up the good work Kenosha KID, SpacemanBad, and T-Box, with sustained performance like you have now, you could very well crack PR next quarter.
Note: The player formerly known as Sketch is now known as T-Box in honor of his sister, as stated by the extra conditions agreed upon of the money match he lost to Kenosha KID on 27/08/16.
