This week QLD Smash is celebrating its third birthday!
QLD Smash was launched three years ago in Australia on the 30th September 2014. A lot has changed since the website first launched; Challonge and Smash.gg have taken over TioPro as the dominant bracket software solutions, Discord has risen up to become the optimum method for finding opponents online and Smash players have taken to Twitter to express themselves. Changes such as these have resulted in making the forum and online section feel barren. In order to keep up with these changes and to prepare for the possibility of Smash Bros. on the Switch the website is currently in the process of being rebuilt from the ground up to focus more its strength of being the largest central source of Australian Smash Bros. data on the internet.
To commemorate this, QLD Smash is launching the third Annual Forum Awards. This is an online survey where you can give credit to your favourite QLD Smash members and possibly earn some badges! Users vote for other users in categories, and the users' who win each category will be awarded with an Annual Forum Award badge. All users who vote before the deadline will be awarded a participation badge.

Mr. Bigtrouble himself runs some pretty great events that i always have a ton of fun at.
2. Which player do you enjoy watching the most?
I would probably say Jaice's playstyle is cool to watch and since i play sort of similar to him i can apply his strategies to my villager and Rosalina play.
3. Who is your favourite Super Smash Bros. commentator?
I'd reckon either Jaice or Cap, Jaice gives a lot of his insight and knowledge of the game and Cap's just fun to hear his commentary and banter.

i know he's retired from smash but i'd probably say Karnu since he helped me get into the scene and made me push myself to become a better player when he was in QLD.

Aero's shit talking is actually golden. Makes for some great stuff that's even more hilarious in hindsight.

1. Who is your favourite tournament organiser?
BigTrouble. FNS feels like such a fun and welcoming environment to attend tournaments at. He's a very relaxed T.O. but knows when to speak up if something important needs to be said.
2. Which player do you enjoy watching the most?
Shitashi, Jaice or Waveguider.
Shitashi's play (while not a lot of people will agree with me) is extremely entertaining to watch as he gets into his opponents head and limits their options before finally timing them out. It's a breath of fresh air to watch whenever I see him play due to this unique style.
Jaice's neutral and traps are always a joy to watch. Plus I've never seen someone control Luma just as well as he does in the entire world.
Waveguider's Greninja movement seems so flawless that it's a spectacle to watch.
3. Who is your favourite Super Smash Bros. commentator?
Either Facetious or Emyks.
Facetious and Emyks are both extremely knowledgable commentators.
I feel like Emyks is better at providing hype, however I really enjoy listening to facetious talk about any topics he wishes.
4. If QLD Smash had a villain, who would it be?
A lot of players in the community talk a lot of shit or hype themselves up a lot, but then fail to provide the results, so there are a lot of clowns, however if I had to choose a villain it'd have to be PillowTalk.
He's the only player to be able to say he's good at the game (despite barely attending any tournaments) and back it up with results.
5. Who is the most attractive Smash player?
Definitely Code_E.
6. Who do you find to be the most influential Smash player?
The most influential smash player would have to be either Jaice, Luminescent or PillowTalk.
Jaice was one of the first people to welcome me into the scene and has helped me improve a great deal.
Luminescent introduced me to the scene, so I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him.
PillowTalk has also given me lots of advice and welcomed me into his crew.

While he has the results, I'll always have the opinion of Jaice being the best player in Australia.
No one else in Australia can maintain a character pool as diverse as Jaice at a high level while still maintaining extremely high results.
9. Who do you think is the best up and coming Smash player?
Easily Jolt, he's got the results and every week he seems to be causing more upsets and placing better.
10. Who is your favourite Smash player, for any reason?
My favourite smash player is Mittens.
Playing against him in bracket and in friendlies feels like such a good environment to play in. There's no judgement, he offers advice afterwards and in general he's such a polite and warm person to talk to.
