"In its simplest form, Mafia consists of two sides: the Mafia, and the Town. The Mafia's goal is to kill the innocents, while the Town's goal is to kill the Mafia.

At the beginning of the game, the Moderator will secretly send everyone their role. The Mafia will know each other, while (in the basic game) everyone else will only know their own role.

The game has two phases. Usually the first is Night. During Night, the Town can not communicate, but the Mafia can discuss and choose someone to murder. After the Moderator has received the name of the victim, the Moderator reveals the dead player, and Day begins.

During Day, the Town must choose someone to Lynch; they are trying to eliminate the Mafia, but the Mafia can lead them astray by casting suspicion elsewhere. Generally, players will vote for someone they think is Mafia (the Mafia will vote so that they seem to be doing this as well, and might even vote for each other to confuse the Town); when a player gets a majority of the votes, they are lynched. Their role is revealed by the Moderator, and it is once again Night.

The game alternates between Night and Day until either the Mafia are eliminated, or the Mafia have killed everyone else."

Rules:
1. Unless your role specifically states otherwise, no communication about the game takes place outside of this thread. This includes both players and non-players.
2. No quoting or partial quoting mod PMs, or faking a quoted mod PM in this thread.
You MAY state your role / alignment
You MAY state your character
You MAY paraphrase your abilities
You MAY NOT give any flavour text
You MAY NOT try to force others about the specifics of their mod PMs
3. Editing posts is not allowed. Double-post if need be. (I can tell the difference).
4. Make your votes clear and easy to see. VOTE: Boozer is good.
You may change your vote, vote for no lynch and unvote as needed.
5. Lynching occurs once a majority has been reached.
6. If no majority has been reached, the player with the most votes is lynched. If there are players with equal votes, the lynchee is random.
7. Thread will be locked during the night phase until the next day phase.
8. Dead players cannot post in this thread, and can no longer communicate privately if their role dictated that they could.

Days have a deadline of two weeks. Nights have a deadline of 72 hours.
Inactive players will be given notice after 72 hours. If this happens several times over the course of the game the player will be removed from the game.

I mean we're unlikely to win at this point, but it's not impossible assuming we lynch an active mafia member + they knock each other out tonight.

Basically i think taking the risk on lynching maribro is worth it as if he really is godfather (which his play is consistent with) we're still possible victors. Lynching an inactive towny isn't a winning play.

(ngl it looks bleak though, we've gotten pretty fucked over this game with inactives and now this :/)

Repeating something doesn't make it true, and you've played exactly like a mafia (especially godfather) would.
Acting pro-town is in your interest as you'd want to try and help town knock out the other mafia, stop trying to use it as an infallible defense.

You can read too hard into someone's actions, which is what you're doing now. "Oh he's an active pro town member, he must be Godfather". Maybe I'm active and pro town because… I am town?

Lynching an actual mafia would probably help us win. So no, not lynching me could result in a favourable win for town. Lynching me or lynching any other actual townie, will result in a town loss.

I'm vital to the town's success because we need as many people alive as possible right now. I'm even following the rules that you and Ghostbone have set out, saying that claiming a PR is gonna make Mafia's job easier and nor have I claimed VT as I was directly instructed to do so. Rightio, sorry I've been inactive guys. I should hopefully be decently active throughout tonight.

Not sure what input you guys really want from me, but it seems fairly clear that a decision has to be made. It's pretty obvious that whenever someone gets pressured they're going to come out and say that they're some sort of "pro-town" role, and we're not going to have any real hard evidence to dispute that.

We can only really go on who we think has been the most suss, and just try to make the most educated call we can, obviously. I agree that not lynching isn't going to be positive for town, and I also agree with Ghost that lynching an inactive player also doesn't really help that much, unless we get lucky.

At this stage, (bearing in mind this is my first game) we seem pretty heavily on the back-foot, and it looks increasingly likely that we'll need to take a risk.

Maribro, I can see where you're coming from, but you've got to understand that any player, mafia or otherwise, would say virtually the exact same thing in your position.

I have been suspicious of Maribro for a while now due to his buddying with Pazx and his constant need to tell us he is proven town, even before he had votes on him when he isn't proven at all. I didn't want to vote for him before as he was quite active and if I did vote for him I would become suspicious. I also thought it would end up pretty badly if he did flip town but at the moment I feel like we need to make this risk.

Yeah because you guys had baseless suspicion of me, so I feared a vote like this may occur, I tried to clear myself before anything like this happened but then it did anyway.

Well we're basically in Lylo right now. This isn't an ideal spot and we should be trying to lynch mafia.

Lynching me isn't gonna actually achieve this.

I'm not really sure who is mafia at this stage but people bandwagoning me are definitely sus (bandwagoning is always suss, no matter who) so maybe look at some of the other later voters on the Longshot/Invisi wagons and see if they match.
