And before you tell me ghost is the best sheik, lets remember how his sheik couldn't beat the fox that didn't make it out of bam pools

Being the best of your character doesn't matter if you're not PR. It just means no one plays that characer.

WA has Ness, I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that.

Sheik is arguable, but Eternal did outplace you at BAM with Sheik so Ghost isn't even your main competition.

Luigi and Marth, almost definitely not. You may have beaten Attila at BAM, but he still placed 17th and places consistantly well at VIC monthlies. And I don't know on what basis you can argue that WA has the best Luigi when neither Jeese (aka Randy Savage) nor Archaze were at BAM to showcase their skill.

I'm not basing anything off placings, I'm just basing it off playing them. Attila and Joel are around the same. Luigi is purely opinion based because none of the best Luigi's went to BAM. WA at least has contention.

I'm glad Peahnuts being the best zss is undisputed though.

I really think I'm a good outside choice for best Luigi, tbh. Not that I have any evidence of that.

In my opinion, WA has Ness, but that's it (undisputed, anyway) I don't mean that as disrespect, but there are just a lot of strong players around.

Best Falcon and Mario is possible, as well.

The problem is, we only have one big tournament to base all this stupid conjecture off of and even then, some players who have a very valid claim to being the best at certain characters (any of the Luigis, Killy's Sonic) were completely missing. Saying Attila places consistently well at Vic monthlies is as good evidence to him being the best Marth as it is that Joel consistently places well at all Perth locals. Eastern states seem to place more worth in their local tourneys than ours, which I think is where some of this Eastern states' bias is coming from.

if I knew absolutely nothing about either player aside from their results and PR placements in their respective regions i would be much more frightened of #2 on the Vic PR than someone who is tied for 5th on the WA PR, there's absolutely no contest there.

I messing around a bit above, Ghost, Con, Atilla and anyone else I mentioned are all amazing players. I was sad to hear that he dropped Sheik and I'm happy that he picked her back up. Now I'm not Will and I'm not saying that WA is the strongest scene, cos it's definitely not. But there is absolutely no doubt that there is bias. Going off the characters I listed.

Literally nobody mentioned Peahnuts when he solidly outplaced Kira at BAM. The fact that it wasn't even a toss up between him or KIra shows how sidelined WA is compared to the rest of Australia.

For Sheik, Eternal and I both lost to Nikes at BAM, me 3-2 and Eternal 3-0, with the only difference in our placings being one set. Despite that, again no one even mentioned me or even Kevin, who I consider to be better than me and is also above me on PR. Nikes would probably have some good insight.

Luigi is a massive toss up, but I just listed him because Pazx asked for which characters WA had the potential for. Pudgy beat Earl at DIAD and is very good. Poppt1 also has a good luigi lol.

Ness. Everyone agrees.

Marth. Attilla and Joel have very different strengths and weaknesses and I threw in the "probably" there because it's a toss up. They're both very good and had comparable results at BAM and yet no one mentions Joel.

It's blatantly obvious how strong the bias is. Literally read what Pazx just wrote,

If you assume WA and VIC are roughly the same skill level it would be perfectly logical to assume that a top 2 player from one region is likely better than a top 7 player from the other, I don't see how there's any east coast bias there at all unless you honestly think Perth is a significantly stronger scene than Melbourne. WA is still a big unknown in a lot of ways but we aren't out to get you guys.

You're using a PR as the sole metric to decide who's the better marth. Joel has been rated higher than 5th on every other PR and I personally think he should've been tied for 2nd. If that was the case, all of a sudden they're equal. You're just being very dismissive of the idea of someone being as good with marth as Attila.

I understand what you're trying to say. It's just that you're looking for any possible reason to put down Perth players. Instead of say discussion their merits as players, you're just trying to find any other reason why you can prop Attila on a pedestal and call him the best Marth. "there's absolutely no contest there. "

Peahnuts I agree that he is probably the best ZSS.

When Eternal played Nikes, I'm pretty sure he used Cloud for the first 2 sets before he switched to Sheik. However it's unfair for you to say you're better than him just because you did better then him against someone once.

People mention Attila over Joel, because Attila has had better placings and wins then Joel. Attila has had some great wins such as against Ghost at the March CW. While they both consistently place well. VIC has more people at their tourneys, and a stronger range of people. Making it harder for people to consistently place well, yet Attila constantly does it.
