[QLD] Smashbox V - January 9th ft. MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE and BARRYDABUSDRIVAH

Thanks to everyone who helped this event run! Urisk karnu and emyks were helpful with TOing and Flex gets a special mention for supplying so many TVs. More people need to be like Flex and bring screens.

Smashbox 4 is confirmed for November and 5 in January. Signups for 4 are now open

Is there any way Smashbox could be on a Friday or Sunday? It was set to Friday before but was later changed to Saturday..

You can just show up a little early and let Shitashi know you wanna enter doubles. Alternatively, you can unregister and then re-register.

You should now be able to unregister from Smashbox.

It still feels like we need more setups, so please remember to bring a TV and Wii U to Smashbox if you're able to so that the tourney can go quickly and people can have friendlies. I must say there was a good effort with the number of setups at the last event and I'm glad because it allowed for everything to run well. Please remember to do this for Smashbox V if you're able to.

I want to know what people think about removing Halberd and Delphino from the stage list. I keep hearing that people aren't too keen on those stages.

It also seems we have a few interstaters that are coming up for this now. I wonder if we will be able to have an interstater break top two for the first time in QLD for SM4SH.

Do you know if they are still used in the other states? What about in the US? I don't see them often, but I don't know if that's a selection preference or a rule change. I think we should stay inline with the majority at least in this regard because it'll let more people be prepared for interstate hype!

What was the reasoning behind Castle Siege's removal? I think it's much better than Delphino and Halberd in every regard.

33% of the stage is unplayable. Transformation 2 (The throne room) is probably the campiest thing in existence.

WA is currently in testing grounds right now we're trying out different stage rulesets, however in all of these rulesets, Delfino and Castle Siege are banned.

Absolutely get rid of Halberd. The jank is too consistent. Ding dong kills Mario at like 60% without rage. Heaven forbid he actually has some rage.

Delfino isn't as consistently janky. You need to get like, grabbed on the top platform as the stage changes or get grabbed on the pillar transformation to have something like that happen. That's much more avoidable then just not getting grabbed by DK ever. Dk also isn't the only one. ZSS, Rosa and a bunch of other characters abuse it too much. Player ability is just too much of a secondary factor on that stage.

Get rid of Duck Hunt, too. It's way to campy and matches pretty much just degenerate into a camp-fest whenever someone picks it.
