my previous experience playing mafia is the previous game on this site, in which i didn't accomplish very much. hopefully everyone is a little more proactive this game, so we don't have strong town figures getting night killed straight away. I've also played werewolf which is similar to Mafia, but the version i played only had one day and one night.
Also, don't think the most useless towny is a good lynch for day 1, we certainly don't want them alive at the end of the game but we don't gain much out of lynching them just yet. Come day 2 or 3 ill be more interesting in lynching super bad town players, with 16 of us we probably have that sort of leeway. tl;dr if you don't want to die, be pro town.
pre-emptive "bad town" list (could be more could be less):

maybe corvid for similar reasons to lef, although his selfless sacrifice was very pro-town when you think about it

Not that I think lynching someone this early is good because we all have a lot of special roles for the townies. We may even have a serial killer who isn't associated with anyone. how do you know that we have a lot of special roles for townies? There is no possible way you could know that.
PSA: please keep the level of assumptions and jumping to conclusions to a minimum.
Also its probably worth mentioning that if anyone makes a vote backed up with obviously shitty logic, and then someone else agree's with that logic and backs them up, that second person is probably a mafia. Pretty sure this has already happened this game, eyes open team. also at the risk of making an assumption after I said dont make assumptions, the previous mafia game had 10 people with 2 mafia, 20%.
since there are 16 people this time, 3 or 4 mafia would follow that pattern, since we really have no way of knowing we should follow this number as a guideline, but dont rule out the possibility of more mafia.

i thought wooy made a legitimately good observation, although it could be written off as the game probably started past laggy's bed time. not sure what he's done to be called "one of if not the most suspicious player". you can vote for him, but your reasoning comes across as desperate/reaching, which isn't dissimilar to how you played as mafia, cake
also i don't like atyeo's response to maribro on the basis that he could be outing a power role for very little gain

Your logic of voting bad town on later days is just silly. The only reason to vote for bad town on day 1 is that we have no information which might help us to vote mafia. On later days, we might be able to glean specks of information here and there, and thus have better information than "this guy isn't useful" to vote with.
Your vote is mean. Also I don't have any Elo, I gave it all to Sydney people. I'd be more than happy to take some bonus Canberra Elo home with me though XD. Still not sure whether I can come, but I'll sort out the plan for Sunday by tonight.

you're right, i suppose what I should have said is that we shouldn't immediately lynch laggy, rather we should wait until it gets towards the end of the day and start looking at whoever is the most suspicious or the worst at playing town.

imagine being the first night kill in your first two games of mafia :( also lol @ me taking less initiative, i was at a smash meet until late last night and i've been out all day. fortunately it seems there are more people being proactive early on in this game.
