Smash Bros-themed Mafia | game over, town wins! page 25

"In its simplest form, Mafia consists of two sides: the Mafia, and the Town. The Mafia's goal is to kill the innocents, while the Town's goal is to kill the Mafia.

At the beginning of the game, the Moderator will secretly send everyone their role. The Mafia will know each other, while (in the basic game) everyone else will only know their own role.

The game has two phases. Usually the first is Night. During Night, the Town can not communicate, but the Mafia can discuss and choose someone to murder. After the Moderator has received the name of the victim, the Moderator reveals the dead player, and Day begins.

During Day, the Town must choose someone to Lynch; they are trying to eliminate the Mafia, but the Mafia can lead them astray by casting suspicion elsewhere. Generally, players will vote for someone they think is Mafia (the Mafia will vote so that they seem to be doing this as well, and might even vote for each other to confuse the Town); when a player gets a majority of the votes, they are lynched. Their role is revealed by the Moderator, and it is once again Night.

The game alternates between Night and Day until either the Mafia are eliminated, or the Mafia have killed everyone else."

Rules:
1. Unless your role specifically states otherwise, no communication about the game takes place outside of this thread. This includes both players and non-players.
2. No quoting or partial quoting mod PMs, or faking a quoted mod PM in this thread.
3. Editing posts is not allowed. Double-post if need be. (I can tell the difference).
4. Make your votes clear and easy to see. VOTE: Boozer is good.
You may change your vote, vote for no lynch and unvote as needed.
5. Lynching occurs once a majority has been reached.
6. If no majority has been reached, the player with the most votes is lynched. If there are players with equal votes, the lynchee is random.
7. Thread will be locked during the night phase until the next day phase.
8. Dead players cannot post in this thread, and can no longer communicate privately if their role dictates they can.

Days have a deadline of two weeks. Nights have a deadline of 72 hours.
Inactive players will be given notice after 72 hours. If this happens several times over the course of the game the player will be removed from the game.

I've got some interesting ideas for this one. Might take a while to write up so be patient :3

Of the main active posters, my current feelings are towards Invisi and possible Aero as well. Aero doesn't have much going for him. I'd definitely say hydro after that very poor cop performance. I'm pretty sure i've seen barry posting in other threads so being quite seems sus, similarly for LEF.

TBQH I have 0 information and my role is basically that of a glorified townie. The thing is, the role is powerful but I don't get to know anything that person previously did unless everyone knows it, and it could be something completely weak. If Maribro died N2 I would have been stuck with his shitty 1 track 1 kill 1 save power and just as little knowledge as before.

Ultimately I can't really see how anyone without a power is supposed to know that much at this point. Multiple players aren't speaking so we don't know jack about them, and each day cycle has basically been us lynching someone who we think is playing poorly.

My knowledge is: Pazx, Maribro, Myself and 1 person that Pazx has investigated are currently good.

Since I'm not providing anything with my role at this current stage I felt that it would be more than acceptable to go for a risky play which may result in me getting killed for the sake of giving information to the town. Because if no powerful roles die, I either end up with no role by the time we win, or something completely shit.

This seems a little… stacked to me. Either the mafia have something seriously op or one of these people is lying. Or we don't fully understand what happened on night 1.

5 PRs seems powerful, but it's possible we are going up against 4 Mafiosos and a SK, which might make it balanced? I'm not sure, it might still be town-biased.

If those numbers are correct and we decide we can trust Urisk (+Jlo who is obviously town now lol), we could lynch randomly from Aero, Invisi, Barry, Lef, Corvid and Windkeeper and have a 2/3 chance of hitting scum, or 1/2 if we only had 4 scum roles to begin with. Those are pretty good odds, and they become 4/5 or 3/5 when you consider that I know one of these players is town aligned. Odds become worse when you consider the possibility that Urisk or Wooy were lying, or that Hydro was bussing Jlo to make Jlo look innocent.

Time for the six of you to start pointing fingers, and the rest of us to think about who to lynch.

I wasn't in your game 1 but I've been playing mafia plenty, I know when I'm happy to make risks although getting ninja'd did make it considerably worse. Aside from that, and I had my reasons, I wanted more information and having no role wasn't going to help me get that. In saying this what else have I done that's been anti town?

Wooy is easy enough to confirm, we have both maribro and Wooy target Hydro during the night and if he survives then we murder Wooy.

Pazx who are you going to investigate tonight? I've said this already but I feel like Maribro and Wooy are telling the truth. Pazx is the cop. This makes me wonder who the doctor is. I have a suspicion of who the doctor is but I don't want to say who it is because that might put a target on him. I'm not the doctor, that much I do know.

Ok so I just read through a bit more and did Urisk really just admit to making up a role and character on the fly? LOL

There was literally no real reason for him to lie just then for him to reveal his real role 5 minutes later wtf?

The Mafia game mantra is to lynch all liars, he literally lied and then straight up changed his mind, I also don't believe he would be given a role as broken as that either.

My finger of suspicion is on Urisk right now. I see people voting for Invisi too, that could definitely be a road worth looking at but he hasn't done anything that scummy yet.

I want to know what Pazx thinks about this. He's the smart one here, and the cop, and I trust him completely.

Yeah I wanted more information and unfortunately timed it when pazx came in the the cop play :/. Like I said I've got no powers atm so I've gotta make the most use of what I can and that was an attempt to bait out some interest in my power role.

Not exactly, It's hard to fully explain my thought process but basically I was trying to goad mafia into either coming out and trying to take power roles, or believing that I have the ability to role block and thus they'll start saying more instead of taking a lax role to things.

Not updating the thread first sure screwed me up that's for damn sure.

TBH this is a large part of why I tried to take a roleblocking role. To say that wooy couldn't have kill corvid. Now that I think about it, wooy might have been baiting in order to get the doctor/some other power role to say that they didn't target corvid. Which means the doctor knows ALOT.

This is untrue, we need to choose between the guaranteed kill on Hydro and proving Wooy's innocence. He could be the SK.

I'm liking the look of Urisk, but I feel as though we should kill someone useless (Lef/Barry/MAYBE OH I DON'T KNOW, CORVID) and I should attempt to investigate somebody who is potentially more powerful.

My biggest question is whether Wooy and Maribro should target the same player or not, because the Mafia knows slightly more about their alignment than we do. tl;dr if they're both town we should only send one, and if Wooy is anti-town (Mafia or SK) we should send both. Wooy, do you have anything to say?

If we choose to just go with Maribro, he gets roleblocked and killed (or worse: he gets roleblocked and it turns out that Wooy is town and Wooy gets killed) and I get a town result, we're a day behind and have to lynch Hydro immediately before we go back to having to lynch pseudorandomly from the group of 4, and if we're unlucky that group will be smaller thanks to the Mafia NK.

Here's what I'm leaning towards.
Lynch: Corvid, Urisk, Barry, Lef (I need to go back and have a look at voting habits though, LEF has cast a lot of votes with very little actual substance, but I think he's been voting pretty well [he started the wagon on Hydro, which could just be him bussing]).
NK: Hydro
Investigate: Urisk, or random from the 6 I have nullish reads on.

To reiterate: I would like to hear from Wooy and Corvid primarily, but everybody who hasn't contributed much is at risk of dying either today or tomorrow at the hands of the town.

I believe this is likely the correct play, I just want to have a look at voting history and a few other things before we advance the game. We have at least 2 players completely slipping under the radar because of this Corvid scenario, maybe their posts or previous votes could shed some light on who we should really be lynching.

Can you believe there's a strong possibility Dean gave two players the same prominent roles as last time? Crazy RNG.

One small question I have to ask is why did we all more or less just accept Maribro's claim?

I'm afraid I'm not your man. As a Vanilla Townie I have just as much information as everyone else.

I'm kinda surprised that I'm still alive. As I said earlier, I'm not sure what happened on night 1, but my best guess is that the doctor saved either Pazx or myself on the first night, and then on the second night the mafia decided to go for an easier target after being blocked.

At this stage of the game with a number of power roles being outed I hope I should be safe from the mafia since they have bigger priority targets. Thankfully with the doctor still hidden we have the means to protect our important players, and if I go down as a side casualty because the mafia are scared of the doctor, I'm perfectly okay with that.

I may not have any certain information, but there is one thing I've seen that doesn't add up.

Corvid has claimed Vanilla Townie, yet his survival on night 1 with Wooy targeting him remains unexplained. With the assumption that the doctor protected Pazx or myself on night 1 (or, really, anyone other than Corvid), the most likely explanation is in fact that Corvid happens to be bulletproof. He could be a bulletproof townie, but then why would he not claim as such? Most likely he is either a bulletproof mafia goon, or the serial killer (apparently they can commonly be bulletproof).
