Saying that lynching Varous because he's a bad townie is almost the same thing as a no lynch to be honest. Town can't win unless they lynch anti-town players.
The only reason I would vote to lynch Varous is if there was no other option because there is still a small chance he's anti town and any chance is better than no chance.

here's the thing: nearly everyone has contributed to the discussion well enough that I think they're safe from a day 1 lynch. obviously you might have other ideas but that's what im heading to.
with varous, he only said one thing. i think he doesn't care about the game, and as like other people said, theres a track record of inactive/unhelpful people ending up being townies (most of it due to me, but we won't discuss that). plus if he is mafia, he would defo be more active. this could be the case, this couldn't.
i think that a inactive townie is worse than an unhelpful townie, at least in terms of forum mafia. at least a unhelpful townie can help sometimes, and who knows? they might change the game.
my vote is still on varous in the meantime.

I just had a skim through the chat. That triple Varous vote seemed pretty sketchy although DD would just want the heat off of him. Not changing my vote at this point but just something to consider.

Sort of just waiting for a lynch tbh, voting for inactive players does get them talking but it's sort of pretty easy to just say something non committal but it's probably our best bet since we're still on day 1.

It's up to the moderators. I think it's more normal to not have daytalk but our games on QLD/AUSmash have typically allowed it except one or two.

the thing is there is no way to distinguish anti town behavior on day 1 so it's kinda hard.

With the varous situation, i dont think lynching him without him having a proper contribution to the game would be a good idea, he might bring some useful skills to the table etc. (Might I add we have until sunday next week, so we dont have to make a decision for a while)
