It's still very possible Corvid is an anti-town role but considering that the main argument against him were the allegations that he was a Serial Killer and targeted MrL because MrL was aggressive towards him, if you believe that Bijou was the one to redirect the kill to MrL last night then this case doesn't completely hold up anymore.

Yea what Dean said
Corvid himself didn't even notice that lmao

i have to admit at this point i'm a bit lost lol. honestly i thought we were heading on the right track with the duon votes but he's role revealed and from reading the mafia wiki it sounds like jailer is a pretty common role so it'd be rather risky to fakeclaim it this early in the game. my vote is still on cjeccjec, but it's definitely subject to change in the next day or so; i'm quite tired right now from my trip so maybe i'll be thinking with more clarity tomorrow.
i was however thinking about this (and couldn't be bothered typing up another post entirely on my mobile);
assuming bijou wasn't targeted by SK (i assumed mrL was targeted by SK cause it was the most likely option and that was wrong but whatever), then i honestly have no idea why mafia would both pick bijou and not use strongman... could the moderators confirm if strongman ignores busdriver? if it does, and the mafia indeed didn't bother using it, it could indicate an overall less experienced mafia team than usual. if it doesn't ignore busdriver then this post is completely useless i guess.

It's interesting that I was targeted during the night phase though, given how pro town I was playing it was a huge risk to try kill me with so many town power roles that could have protected me. Maybe they went for a strongman assuming it was mafia that targeted me and not a third party.
Anyway what was the logic of taking me out do you reckon? Did they want to take out a 'strong' player or was it strategic to cast suspicion onto someone else for an easy lynch?

Hypothetically if there were a bus driver, it would redirect the strongman onto the other player, unless something stopped it.
12/29/2016 10:50:58
12/29/2016 10:50:58
Bus driver changes who gets targeted. So instead of me being strongmanned, I swapped positions with Mr L who gets strongmanned instead. It doesn't 'beat' a strongman, it just changes who gets targeted by it. But yeah I wonder what the idea behind targeting me was? Were they trying to shut me up regarding me targeting certain players? Did they want to take a pro town player out? Did they want to push lynch discussion onto someone who would want me dead?
Running out of leads at the moment so I think the best path we have is to try get into the mindset of their decision.
Unless of course I did get targeted by a third party in which case the above train of thought goes nowhere.

Well this day has come to a complete standstill... Good job town you're just making it easier for mafia to passively lurk and not do anything so they can just become part of the crowd.
I don't really know who to pressure at this stage but I'm just gonna pick at random

Agree that Insert and Murkiri are probably town at this stage, mostly because if one of them dies for any reason (not unlikely with a probable serial killer) the other is 100% confirmed mafia and I don't think maf would take this risk.
LuminescentLucas stuck out to me on the last page, apart from Corvid historically being an easy lynch and like usual lurking a lot there wouldn't have been any reason for MrL to go after Corvid in particular. No one had any information in Day 1.
What can I say, it feels like maf have crafted a theory that Corvid is SK after MrL's night death and have tried to crack down on him. When:
A) I would be surprised a serial killer exists that kills a player highly suspicious of them, since this paints them in a terrible light
2) I reckon we stand to gain much more from having a look at MrL's post history since he has guaranteed teammates, and
III) Serial killer isn't top priority for town right now, as although we have to lynch him at SOME stage they are harder to track and can also hit mafia (as proven by last night), but mafia would be very keen to lynch them as they usually have some degree of bulletproof so mafia can't kill them the usual way
BUT I'm probably reading too much into things once again.

Yes he certainly has been lurking and the discussion he has created, while much better than the discussion he created towards the start of the game, is quite lacking.
Luminous has been summarising and supporting mafia leads with weak reasoning (basically making posts of little substance or little help towards town) to blend in? Maybe, I think I got a little side tracked by discussion and forgot that we are looking for mafia.
So looks like we'll get a defence from him and can go from there

Well, I better defend myself.
I do agree that I've been "lurking", I've been a bit lazy when it comes to playing this game as of right now. I feel as if I cannot write huge novels like bijou does as I am not very experienced yet and everything I want to say, everyone else says before me. I'm not very good at analysing player's behaviour so I just try to push discussion and progress the day like you guys are by voting me, which I have nothing against.
After myself getting killed twice in a row by Aero last game, I feel as if I need to keep my head low and below the radar of the mafia.
Basically, I'm trying to progress discussion and gather ideas while keeping myself safe from the mafia.
So either I'm really bad at defence or just I lack experience. I will try to make sure my reasonings are clear so that my leads will help. As of right now, I have no leads so progressing discussion is what I'm thinking about.

Don't feel like you have to write massive novels to contribute to the town mate. You played fine last game and you were just unlucky Aero was a troll lord on you. Wasn't anything much that you did wrong last game.
Incidentally I extend the same to any other town player who feels intimidated to post. Don't be put off by players like me or Dean writing long posts. Just contribute what you can.

I feel as though a townsfolk that is actively trying to out scum and dies at some point during the game is much more useful than one that sits on his/her hands throughout the game but survives to endgame. (you can still win when you die)
And I find it very hard to believe we're nearly 600 posts into this game and you don't have a single lead? I think you're a capable enough player to try harder than that. That reminds me MrL's dead so I can change my flair back

I realised halfway through writing this that is was probably a bit too early for this type of post but oh well.
Insert and Murkiri- Pretty safe to think they are town at the moment, it would be too risky for their claim this early in the game if they were mafia.
Bijou- His claim of bus driver seems to line up with what happened last night so I feel like he is town.
Duon- Though it is still possible he fake claimed pursuing Duon today won't lead to anything else and his reliance of Ghost to confirm his claim makes it more likely he is town.
Spacejam- Though he did say some odd things early on he seems to be trying to add more to town discussion than previous games.
Maribro- He has been acting pro-town this game similarly to other games when he was town.
Extra- Though he didn't seem to want to take a side on the lynch or no lynch debate, he has been helpful to town discussion.
Dean- Has been acting pro-town being very helpful to towns discussion.
KiwiFruitKoala- Has been following other peoples decision almost exclusively but he did this in the other games as well so who knows.
Corvid- Has only really been posting to defend himself like the other games. Though Mr L was against him, I skimmed through the chat and I didn't see Mr. L ever actually vote for him. At the current moment I still don't think it is as likely he is mafia however.
ThatLaggyPerson- Hasn't posted enough for me to know.
LuminousLucas- Has been adding to discussion but the posts haven't been adding much to the towns discussion.
Luminescent- Has been adding long posts that seem like they could be a lot shorter. It is probably just how they write but it could be seen as artificially extending them to make it seem like there is more there.
Invisi- Hasn't been adding much to discussion but has brought up some good points.
Ghost- Has been more aggressive this game then the last (I'm not sure whether this is good or bad) but has been helpful in discussion.
CJeccjec- Was a bit jumpy on his votes but seems to want to start discussions.
JLo- Has been adding to discussion and seems pro-town. However they were still for lynching a weaker player at the start of today which could be seen as odd.
Hydropimp- Has been acting pretty similarly to previous games. I'm not really sure what to think of his posts at this point.
Also sorry if I missed something I wrote some of it late last night.

my thoughts on luminous lucas are that looking through his posts, including from last game, he seemed to always be posting with at least a bit of confidence compared to some of the other newbies who generally just kinda flail around so i always assumed he had experience from elsewhere (town of salem or something). as such i think it's pretty weird that he's pulling the "im new" card as soon as he's pressured; considering his general post quality has been pretty decent it's not really an excuse honestly. vote count hasn't been updated at time of post so i won't place a vote on him rn but might stick one on later.
as a side note it's actually pretty surprising that just about everyone except jlo has basically glossed over laggy's lack of contributions. would've thought that now that he hasn't been lynched / killed he'd be more interested in playing the game. i said earlier that i was more than happy to let him have a chance at the start of the game but we're 24 pages in and he has been extremely quiet and mostly posted single sentences. i'd like to see him start contributing and he should probably be pressured more. anyone who's played irl mafia with me knows that i'm quite fond of getting rid of quiet people.
@windkeeper: i took a side on the lynch/no lynch debate by voting. if the no lynch group became anything other than a minority i would've spoken up but they didn't so i didn't really care.

I mean, all you've really done here is say "this person is pro town/this person hasn't said much. When I used to write these types of things I would explain why I felt this way and what that made me think of the person. You really need to be a bit more detailed with an analysis like this because nobody has any reason not to play pro-town and you need to think about what it is exactly that's making you feel that they're pro town. If you really think hard about why you think they're pro town, it could give you solid grounding to really confidently say "This person is probably town" or "although this person has acted pro town, some of their behaviour has been flaky/they've received undeserved support as a townie (this could be maf trying to confirm their buddy as town and hoping town just agrees). Same also goes for people that aren't posting. Why aren't they posting and what does that tell me.
tl;dr be more critical and thoughtful in your analysis @everyone.

The 'lynch laggy on day 1' meme has long past, because it's now day 2! I think mafia had gotten a break because Lachlan is such an obnoxious player that everyone wanted him out of the game ASAP. All mafia had to do is ride that bandwagon and/or support the Lachlan lynch, since practically no one was opposed to it.
With no real pressure being applied during day 1, all mafia had to do was hang back (fk me how many times have I said that phrase) in the background. Laggy has been a doing a good job of not attracting attention by doing so. In previous games once he starts posting, he usually outs himself, but by parroting what everyone else has said already, he makes himself inconspicuous.
Day 2 arrives, and even though mafia loses a strongman (apparently due to Bijou's next level play), talks of an SK comes about and Corvid is put into the spotlight. All he had to do was support that notion that he was the SK and took out MrL, and support that he did. In fact, he's been pressuring Corvid since day 1, and sussing out a historically bad player is a good way to gain the town's favour.
But aside from those statements, his posts have been of very little substance and gives the impression of a player who doesn't want to give a lot away. I know this has been said a lot of times already, but town should contribute whatever they can to the discussion. Throwing out simple observations should be more than enough, and may prove to be beneficial in the long run. I think that by parroting opinions instead, he's reducing the chance of incriminating himself. Good way to blend in, but when your other posts contain jack shit, it's not a good look on you Laggy.
